Backyard Projects

This fall deemed it necessary to start a project in our backyard that started one of those domino effects. All we wanted was a new trampoline on a flat spot (refer to earlier Craigslist tramp post).

From that thought, came a pile of dirt that's now residing under a blue tarp that will eventually be a sledding slope, of some sort, when the snow falls. But the good news is, we have that new tramp with flat digs AND a wall on the side of the house we've been wanting for many years.

In the beginning, our tramp area looked like this (you won't notice it from here, but imagine the kids constantly rolling to the back of the tramp due to a 35 degree pitch in the yard):




Then, the digging began to level that pitch...




Filler rock was delivered....




Levelness was constructed (which included a wall), new tramp installed and jumping commenced...



Did you see that truck and the pile of rock it dropped in front of our house? Yeah, that tramp hole wasn't that deep. Between the dirt dug from the hole and left-over rock, we were in search of a new project to "hide" the left-overs. So, I talked Mike into making a couple step-walls on the side of the house (which were needed anyway).

So, last weekend he completed this project (wall pic of Mike taken by Lauren):




We still have enough dirt under the blue tarp for a killer sled ramp, but any more backyard hiding projects are just going to have to wait till the Spring!
